California Restaurant Association Is Looking for a Dynamic Director of Corporate Development

Are you good at building and developing relationships with outside businesses? Are you a trustworthy self-starter, creative, strategic and driven? This opportunity could be your next role. Based in Sacramento, the Director of Corporate Development oversees all Partnerships and Business Development with the existing CRA partners and creates new opportunities. He/she will work with the CRA team to ensure all partnership requirements are met. You will work to establish and develop streams of revenue for the association through partnerships and development of new business products to serve the restaurant industry. Experience in relationship management, marketing, restaurant operations, strategic planning, management, and sales a plus. 

The Director, Corporate Development will work with the Vice President, Member Development of the identification and acquisition of new and retention of existing strategic membership groups. The Director, Corporate Development will partner with the Marketing Department on identification and acquisition of new opportunities. The Director of Corporate Development will report directly to the President + CEO.

Education and/or Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, or finance. Related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires excellent communication and exceptional follow-through. A minimum of five years of experience in project management, team management and business development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned): 

Primary responsibility for developing and executing the Association's communications strategies including content development and content management.

Specifically, this position will be:

  • Responsible for business development, marketing implementation, and assisting development of strategic plan. 
  • Accountable for achieving aggressive partner and revenue growth, and a driven development plan. 
  • Coordinate with Director of  Marketing + Communications to implement partnership Marketing Campaigns including email, social media, direct mail, and digital advertising.
  • Prepare regular reports to the Board of Directors
  • Liaison with National Restaurant Association (NRA) ServSafe team.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry news, trends, consumer habits. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position will oversee the Partner Care Manager and the Product and Training Manger

Qualification Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have an in-depth knowledge of journalism, research, editing, Web content management, printing, publications, and marketing. Knowledge of print processes, publication layout and production timelines is essential. Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher. Related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires excellent management and customer service skills and exceptional follow-through. A minimum of five years’ experience in Relationship Management, Business Development, Customer Service, Operation/Business Management or Marketing required. 

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write professional correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized and complex business situations.

Experience in the use of Web site content management systems is required.
