JOB OVERVIEW

Eataly’s bustling marketplaces feature a rich variety of unique, high-quality Italian and local products. The Salumi e Formaggi & Fresh Pasta Manager oversees the Cheese & Cured Meats and Fresh Pasta departments. Directly reports to the Retail General Manager and oversees the Salumi e Formaggi (SAFO) and Fresh Pasta staff.   

  • Organizes and directs the store’s fresh departments to maximize profitability while upholding the company’s mission, values, quality and guest experience standards and policies

  • Manages the SAFO and Fresh Pasta counter staff: schedules, approves payroll, hires, trains, provides feedback, motivates and handles terminations

  • Ensures counters and displays are visually appealing and merchandized effectively

  • Analyzes financial data and develops strategies to increase efficiency and drive sales  

  • Works closely with the culinary and kitchen team to ensure that production consistently meets the store’s needs for retail, quick service and restaurants

  • Requisitions, transfers and purchases food, beverage, supplies and equipment to maximize profit yield and reduce waste

  • Supervises cleaning and maintenance of equipment and counters according to Department of Health standards, and arranges repairs, contracts and other services when needed

  • Documents, investigates and resolves employee and guest incidents

  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 3+ years of retail management experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Strong analytical skills and experience purchasing and managing inventory

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office

  • Knowledge of Italian fresh products preferred

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in weight

  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length

  • Ability to operate equipment such as a slicer, pasta machine or cash register as needed

  • Food Handler’s Certification
