Core Job Description:  
Provide behavior programming support for students with autism, including staff training as a part of a multi-disciplinary team
 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Develop, monitor implementation of, and consistently evaluate behavior intervention plans based on functional assessment and data collection
  • Create and guide data collection systems for both behavior reduction and skill acquisition
  • Collaborate with teachers on effective behaviorally based teaching strategies  and classroom management systems
  • Provide initial and ongoing staff training (e.g., implementation of behavior plans, prompting, data collection)
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary team in development of student programming
  • Support and assist program administration in assessing use of physical management for crisis intervention

Primary Tasks:
ASSESSMENT/REPORTING 

  • Conduct functional assessment, develop function-based behavior plan, and report on progress at yearly IEP meeting in collaboration with special education teacher
  • Create datasheets, cheat sheets, and visual supports for each student behavior plan
  • Enter behavior data into Microsoft Excel, monitor, and make changes to plans as needed
  • Support teachers and therapists with baseline data collection for skill acquisition goals as needed

COLLABORATION

  • Weekly classroom meetings for student updates
  • IEP development meetings (vision meeting, global goal meeting, etc.)
  • Weekly meetings with supervisor/teacher/coordinator/social worker
  • As-needed meetings to support high intensity student needs

STUDENT SUPPORT

  • Run sessions, co-treat sessions with other therapists, work 1:1 with students to model programming ideas for staff, probe strategies with students, and train staff
  • Join community-based instruction and/or vocational programming as needed
  • Support crisis management
  • Provide in-ratio coverage as needed

STAFF SUPPORT

  • Lead formal didactic and in the moment staff trainings on general proactive and reactive strategies for all students
  • Conduct regular reliability and treatment integrity checks to ensure accuracy of data collection and behavior plan implementation across staff
  • Provide initial training, modeling, and feedback on prompting, data collection, and behavior plan implementation for newly hired staff

PROGRAM SUPPORT

  • Assess, recommend, and collaborate with team members to implement environmental modifications, classroom management strategies, and proactive instructional supports

Direct Supervisor: Program Coordinator
Calendar: Teacher/Therapist
Required Background: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (or eligible to sit for the BACB exam) with a Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field

Preferred Background: 

  • Multiple years of experience providing behavior services for individuals with autism
  • Experience working in a school setting
  • Experience supporting vocational training
  • Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience training, supervising, and delivering feedback to staff members
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

  • The noise level in this work environment varies from quiet to very loud.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continually required to stand, walk, sit, run, squat, kneel, crawl, climb, balance, crouch, talk, hear, smell and see. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds.
