Purpose for the Position:
To perform a combination of duties in an efficient, quiet and effective manner which facilities food service and thereby provides a positive impression for the guest.
1.Clears, cleans and resets tables and surrounding areas.
2.Carries dirty dishes from dining room to kitchen.
3.Replenishes supply of clean silverware, glassware, dishes, and other utensils in dining rooms.
4.Stocks all cold food items on dining room buffet.
5.Serves coffee and ice water refills to patrons.
6.Cleans and polishes equipment such as coffee urns, juice and milk dispenser, high chairs, booster seats and sneezeguards.
7.Conducts “hall runs” to pick up dishes and trays on guest floors.
8.May assist in employee break room cleaning and stocking of food during employee lunch hours.
9.Responsible for guest relations and courtesy when asked for help, directions, or registering a complaint.
10.All other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.

Physical Demands: Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time), and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time), and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists from 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
Environmental Conditions: Inside: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. A job is considered “inside” if the worker spends approximately 75 percent or more of the time inside.

Reasoning Development: Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in or from standardized situations.
Mathematical Development: Add and subtract two digit numbers. Multiply and divide 10’s and 100’s by 2, 3, 4, and 5. Perform the four basic arithmetic operations with coins and as part of a dollar. Perform operations with units such as cup, pint, and quart; inch, foot, and yard; or ounce and pound.
Language Development: Reading: Recognize meaning of 2, 500 (two or three syllable) words. Read at a rate of 95-120 words per minute. Compares similarities and difference between words and between series of numbers.
Writing: Print simple sentences containing subject, verb, and object, and series of numbers, names, and addresses.
Speaking: Speak simple sentences, using normal word order, and present and past tenses.

Specific Vocational Preparation:
Specific Vocational Preparation includes an occupationally significant combination of: vocational education, apprentice training, in-plant training, on-the-job training, or essential experience in less responsible jobs which lead to the higher job or serving in other jobs.

High School Diploma, or GED, an equivalent level of education and experience.
