INTERIOR DESIGN DIRECTOR
Our firm is seeking an Interior Design Director. Applicant must be an experienced professional interior designer who is capable managing our 6 person design staff as well as performing interior design tasks at the highest level. NCIDQ certification is required.
Our firm is a Government Furniture Dealer with GSA Contracts that accomplishes furnishings projects Worldwide. We plan, procure, manufacture, deliver, and install complete furnishings for large government projects. Our projects include Offices, Residence Halls, Health Care Facilities, Schools, Child Development Centers, Athletic Centers, and Industrial Facilities.
This design position will utilize all of your design capabilities. Design includes conceptualizing the project, complete space planning, AutoCAD and CAP 20/20 plans and BOMs, furniture and furnishings selection. You would be part of the company senior management team. Items include all furniture, furnishings, and equipment plus interesting items such as artwork, window & floor coverings, and lighting. Related tasks include proposal writing, illustration, presentation, and project management.
Your work will balance hands on creative design and AutoCAD work. There will also be travel to work with interesting customers and professionals as well as trade show attendance such as Neocon.
Work at Company Headquarters in Fairfax, VA in a pastoral rural setting. TPC will relocate you to Fairfax, VA.
Requirements: NCIDQ Certification; Interior Design Experience in the Office Furniture Business; Energetic and cooperative attitude; College Bachelor’s Degree or better. This employee must be proficient on AutoCAD, and fast on MS Excel, Word and email; The director must have a good telephone voice and communication skills. NCIDQ , AutoCAD, 20/20 CAP Designer.
Helpful experience: Government Interior Design experience; Project Management; Accounting; Electronic Marketing; Personnel management.
Pay: Starting pay will be commensurate with experience – probably 6 figure salary. Advancement will be commensurate with actual production and accomplishments.
