We are currently in search of a talented, passionate and experienced Beverage Manager to join and lead our opening team at SMT – This 16,000 sq. ft. entertainment complex will bring traditional Korean tastes in an aesthetically modern way and offer unique nightlight options such as private luxurious karaoke rooms and a dance floor.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Beverage Manager, your duties will include:

  • Oversight of product selection, merchandising, marketing, recruitment, training and financial goals related to the entire Beverage operation
  • Coordination with the General Manager to create projections, budgets and sales goals
  • Consistently source top quality product and maintain strong relationships with vendors and distributors
  • Participation and input towards driving the overall beverage strategy, new product implementation
  • Develop and lead beverage related aspects of special events, promotional initiatives and marketing activities, especially those that are beverage centric
  • Identify appropriate beer, spirit and wine and NA beverage choices
  • Oversight of staff training and development as they relate to beverage including pre-shift meetings and educational sessions
  • Purchasing, ordering and inventory management
  • Solely responsible for cocktail creation, pending the approval of Ownership and the General Manager
  • Ability to analyze sales data, industry trends, conduct competitive set reviews, stay current on industry knowledge/trends, facilitate ideation and recipe creation, measure results, and new product implementation
  • Maintain a clean and organized Beverage BOH and Storage

 JOB REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • A minimum of 3-4 years of food and beverage management experience at a restaurant within a property of similar size and quality, and a minimum of 2-3 years in a senior level beverage management role
  • Sommelier certification strongly preferred
  • Requires operations management experience with purchasing knowledge
  • Extensive experience in high volume restaurants, bars, nightlife and a plus
  • Ability to oversee multiple outlets
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and cohesively as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Establish vendor partnerships that benefit SMT’s goals and objectives
  • Skilled in time management and organization with excellent attention to detail
  • Knowledge of food & beverage service industry, restaurant operations, supplier relationships, and alcohol distribution systems
  • Ability to analyze sales data, industry trends, conduct competitive set reviews, stay current on industry knowledge/trends, facilitate ideation and recipe creation, measure results, and new product implementation
  • Strong business acumen and working knowledge of IT, inventory protocol and financials (P&L, COGS, Labor etc.) is mandatory
  • Knowledge of local and state liquor laws
  • Excellent communication and computer skills are needed, including knowledge of MS Office products
  • Demonstrated profit and loss management ability and client relations success is essential
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time (8+ hours)
  • Multiple language abilities preferred. Fluency in English required and Korean or Spanish desired
