*Verifies purchases and compares items requested to master ordering list; clarifying unclear items; recommending alternatives for cost savings or products of higher quality.
*Forwards available inventory items by verifying stock; scheduling delivery.
*Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items.
*Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers.
*Provides purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
*Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities offer by vendors and develop a working relationship with vendor sales reps.
*Properly communicating with other departments regarding daily activities/issues and support department Managers with products needed.
*Monitoring staff schedule to accommodate business needs daily.
*Maintains a safe, clean, organized, and stocked room and work area.
*Places products away and makes sure proper storage
*Purchases supplies and uniforms as requested.
*A minimum of 2+ years of culinary/hospitality background
*Dedication to excellent food quality and maintains a high level of hygiene and consistency
*Must be a self-starter and be team player
*Must be able to communicate and understand employees according to their needs and the needs and goals of the company
*Knowledge of health and safety regulations
*Must be able to write legibly as well as read and understand directions
*CA Food Handler card/certificate
*Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively
*Must have necessary computer skills (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook).
