Hinterhof is a Vegan German Beer Garden and restaurant in Highland Park. We feature vegan versions of German, home-cooked style comfort food and beer garden specialties along with 12 rotating German beers on tap.

We are building our team of passionate, committed individuals who are looking for a career and want to be part of a fresh, new and exciting place in the vegan/ plant based hospitality community.

The Kitchen Manager of Hinterhof will approach running the kitchen with pride and commitment as if it were their own.

The right person for this role will possess a high level of passion, drive and communicational skills that will inspire their team to perform at their very best. The Kitchen Manager will lead the BOH by creating a safe, challenging and fun work environment.

The Scope of the Role and Responsibilities are as follows

•Schedule and oversee kitchen staff and dishwashers

•Maintain a functioning kitchen by enforcing policies and standard operating procedures

•Oversee production, productivity and quality

•Implement and oversee all Federal and State work place safety laws

•Implement and enforce all Health Department Regulations so the kitchen maintains it’s A rating

•Food ordering, receiving and inventory, ensure par ordering levels are maintained and all incoming stock is checked

•Reviewing and evaluating supplier pricing every 6 to 12 months alongside GM

•create a monitoring system to ensure the consistency of food product

•implement and control food waste management

•Control both prep and line operations and productivity

•oversee equipment maintenance

•Hiring and Training top talent alongside GM

•other related duties that may be assigned by Owner/ GM team.

Skills / Experience

•Minimum 3 years Leadership Role of a commercial kitchen of a full service restaurant

•Strong Leadership and Communication skills

•Strategic and Innovative

•Passionate, Motivate and enable others to contribute toward the restaurant success

•Manager ServSafe Certification required

•vegan/ plant based meal preparing is required

•knowledge of German food culture is a plus

•culinary training/ business training is a plus

•creating lists on Excel, Word, Google Sheets


Salary depending on experience
