Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Sr Financial Analyst will support the company's financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting areas, including weekly and monthly reporting and analysis. This position will assist in preparation of budget, forecast and actual financial results. This role will work cross-functionally to analyze business performance, challenge key assumptions, participate in scenario planning and drive the setting of short and long term financial plans for the business.  The Sr Financial Analyst will play an important role in supporting the company's growth by ensuring continued improvements.

SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST

Responsibilities:

  • Drive key aspects of financial planning and analysis for the organization, proactively analyzing business performance and key performance metrics to provide analytical, strategic and financial support to senior management
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reporting and analysis on key performance metrics, including historical trend analysis on performance and operational productivity for each restaurant
  • Prepare, maintain and deliver weekly cash flow forecasts, identifying opportunities, issues and cash optimization solutions
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver monthly and quarterly financial analyses, reports, and presentations ensuring the accuracy of the information and identifying key points
  • Compile and coordinate the annual budgeting/planning and quarterly forecasting processes, using historical trend information along with changes in market and business environments to create projections
  • Annual G&A budget preparation, monthly analysis and cause of change reporting
  • Work with the development and operations teams on new store analytics and measurements around capital expenditures, restaurant-level profits, and returns on investment
  • Analysis of pricing and marketing initiatives, including assistance in creation of pricing and revenue optimization solutions
  • Provide analytical support for the executive management team
  • Perform general ad hoc analysis of financial and operational data for trends and variances and provide continuous assistance in the evolution and automation of financial reporting, modeling and processes
  • Identify trends and developments in competitive environments and present findings to finance management
  • Manage large data sets from disparate sources for data mining, analysis, and research project
  • Develop financial models for what-if analysis, scenario planning, and M&A activities
  • Work collaboratively with team members, other departments, and private equity owner
  • Partner with other functions to better understand and help explain the drivers of variance

Qualifications:

  • BS in Finance, MBA a plus
  • 3-5 years of experience of strong and progressive financial analytics
  • Exceptional analytical and data modeling skills; experience applying these skills to improve operational performance is a plus
  • Ability to solve problems by gathering information, making recommendations, and ensuring effective execution
  • Detail oriented, with a desire to understand every aspect of the business and independently identify and pursue improvement opportunities
  • Ability to interact with senior executives and management, as well as business staff at all levels
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and effectively meet critical deadlines; natural curiosity for problem solving
  • Advanced skills with Excel, Power Point and database programming
  • Experience in restaurant and/or multi-unit company a plus
  • Experience in investment banking and/or private equity a plus
