A Kitchen Receiver is responsible for the receipt, storage, and organization of all food items for the Back-of-House (BOH) team. Reports to the Sous Chef Manager or Chef de Cuisine.

  • Receives all food items, supplies, and materials

  • Checks incoming merchandise against order sheets for accuracy in weight, quantity, order specifications

  • Maintains inventory and delivery records for BOH and related areas as prescribed by Chef de Cuisine

  • Notes all discrepancies in the daily log immediately and informs Sous Chef Manager or Chef de Cuisine

  • Stores all items at proper temperatures and observes FIFO standards

  • Issues stored items to proper departmental personnel and keeps records of the release of those items

  • Assists in stocking or transporting items to the proper location within the store

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned


  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • 1+ years of kitchen experience preferred

  • Perform simple mathematical calculations


  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for periods up to 8 hours in length

  • Ability to lift storage bins, shelves, boxes, etc., up to 50 pounds in weight

  • Must be capable of strenuous lifting and carrying activity during deliveries
