Position: Grille/BBQ Cook

Full Time - AM and PM shifts

Experience is a must

Reports to the Executive Chef

Overview:

As a Grille/BBQ Cook, you would prepare different kinds of food.  You would help kitchen staff in the preparation of food and set up allocated stations for the menu, as instructed by the Chef.  You would be working the grille that is open for summer afternoons and our weekly bbqs, among other things. 

Responsibilities:

  • Set up stations and collect supplies to prepare menu for service
  • Weigh and measure ingredients for cooking
  • Prepare a variety of foods
  • Prepare sauces and garnishes
  • Cover, date, and correctly store all food items as per safe food-handling procedures
  • Inform Chef in advance of likely shortages
  • Serve food keeping to the standards of the Club
  • Ensure the correct temperate of food 
  • Taste all food items for quality purpose before serving
  • Close the kitchen correctly and follow closing checklist for kitchen stations
  • Maintain an organized and sanitized work area at all times
  • Make sure all storage areas are tidy
  • Constantly use safe and hygienic food handling practices
  • Return dirty food prep utensils to appropriate area
  • Assist staff with other duties as assigned by Chef and Sous Chef
  • Clean kitchen before and after shift
  • Sanitize refrigerators and storerooms
  • Operate and maintain all kinds of kitchen appliances
  • Report any unforeseen circumstances, maintenance needs for faulty equipment to the Chef
  • Maintain outstanding working relationships with staff, guests, and supervisors
