As an URBAN RADISH Cashier, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide world class customer service by:
    • Remembering that serving customers at the register is always your top priority
    • Greeting customers as they enter the store
    • Before ringing up the sale, asking customer’s if they found everything he/she was looking for
    • Paying careful attention to customer’s body language throughout the store which will alert you to pursue further inquiry into how you can fully meet the customer’s needs
    • Monitoring customer’s wait time and request additional cashier support as needed
    • Handling the money properly when received from the customer and making change to the customer accurately
    • Ensuring all customers receive assistance as needed, such as carry-outs
  • Approaching customer service from a full store view by:
    • Seeing everything you do from the perspective of the customer
    • Knowing the location of products throughout the store, as well as seasonal highlights so that you can assist and direct the customer
    • Keeping the register area clean and orderly and keeping all point-of-sale displays and shelving near the register well stocked
  • Differentiating the customer experience by:
    • Getting to know our regular customers and acknowledging them personally
    • Thanking all customers graciously for their business
    • Reminding customers of any events or free educational seminars being planned at URBAN RADISH and asking if he/she would like to be added to our mailing list
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of the fresh foods and grocery products we carry so that you can provide insight and expertise at the point-of-sale
  • Managing the full cycle of customer complains or inquiries
  • Logging all complaints or inquiries
  • Resolving customer issues or complaints and involving management as appropriate
  • Answering the telephone following company policies and procedures
  • Counting contents of cash register drawer at the end of each shift

  • Able to work weekends, weekdays, nights and mornings

Experience and Education:

  • 2-years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency in math
  • Basic computer proficiency

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical abilities require continuous standing, walking, bending, reaching, sitting and carrying light loads between 10-30 lbs.; occasional climbing, stooping, twisting and fine manipulation; occasional environmental exposure to cold, heat and water; and rare exposure to dust and fumes
  • Use of machinery including, but not limited to; dollies, cash registers, computers, printers and other office equipment
