Purpose for the Position:

To coordinate front office activities of hotel and resolve problems arising from guests’ complaints, reservation and room assignment activities, and unusual requests and inquiries.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Assigns duties and shifts to workers and observes performances to ensure adherence to hotel policies and established operating procedures.
  2. Checking in and greeting all guests in a warm and friendly manner.
  3. Resolve guest issues and follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  4. Handles all guest requests and relays them to the propert departments.
  5. Confers and cooperates with other department heads to ensure coordination of hotel activities.
  6. Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services.
  7. Greets important guests.
  8. May patrol public rooms and areas, investigate disturbances, and warn troublemakers.
  9. May receive and process advance registration payments.
  10. May act as MOD when necessary.
  11. May count and handle cash and/or house bank(s).
  12. May oversee some or all tasks performed by Guest Services team members.
  13. All other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.

Skills and Abilities:

  1. Analyze and interpret policies established by administrators.
  2. Understand the government regulations covering business operations.
  3. Make business decisions based on production reports and similar facts.
  4. Make business decisions based on your own experience and personal opinion.
  5. Deal with the general public, customers, employees, union and government officials with tact and courtesy.
  6. Change activity frequently and cope with interruptions.
  7. Speak and write clearly.
  8. Accept the full responsibility for managing an activity.
