We are looking to fill a Commissary Kitchen Manager position for our location in the Arts District, Downtown Los Angeles. 

The person in this position is successfull when they are able to lead a prep team with high morale that consistently meets its daily deliverables and maintains the quality, operational and health standards set by the Company and the Health Department. 

Responsibilities

Training and enforcing food and kitchen policies detailed in Ops Manual

Maintaining consistency and quality throughout the Prep Kitchen

Manage staff, clearly communicate daily expectations.

Daily review of dress code and hygiene standards

Administer discipline as necessary

Oversight of kitchen organization and cleanliness

Communicate the daily activities of the commissary through Hotschedules

Daily stock checks and ordering

Communicates shortages

Adjust day of schedule to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.

Stepping in on any position or area of the commissary when circumstances dictate

Participate in daily staff meetings & weekly manager meetings

Preparing and adjusting daily and weekly reports: staff evaluations, food control, labor control

Coordinate and execute basic maintenance, repair and cleaning projects.

Assume control of incidents or unusual events - call for help when needed.

Recruiting and first interviews for new commissary applicants

Train, development, mentor & motivate staff - suggest candidates for promotion.

Ability to interface with customers

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • 3 years in similar leadership position
  • basic computer skills to include using Excel & Word
  • Manager ServSafe Certification
  • ability to stand for 9 hours
  • lift 50 lbs overhead
  • manuever 125 lb kegs
  • knife skills
