Opening Floor Manager Job Description:

Downtown LA Hotspot is seeking a talented, experienced floor manager. Coffee Knowledge and basic hotel knowledge is a must. We are seeking someone with an energetic, positive mentality that will elevate service and create memorable guest-experiences. 

Duties include: 

1. Managing café outlet and assisting barista based on café volume 

2. Managing breakfast and lunch services while maintaining high standards of service and developing/supporting team members 

3. Ensuring staff are educated on products and service standards

4. Closing café and lunch services with attention to proper sidework completion and paperwork handling 

5. Management of approximately 6-10 staff members at a time

CAFÉ 

1. Print café, breakfast, lunch, and Rudolph’s opening and closing sidework sheets

2. Print shift card for café, exchange, and Rudolph’s- be aware of in-times and monitor throughout shift

3. Give $100 barista bank to opening barista (make sure it is counted and rec sheet signed)- Also- give towels/polishing rags 

4. Make sure barista picks up Breakfast bags from front desk/security

5. Prepare Breakfast bags prior to given time slot (bags should be dropped to guests promptly) 

6. Check BEO board for upcoming special events/BEOs, be alert for staffing needs

BREAKFAST

1. Open iPad with breakfast/lunch reservations, prepare any large-party tables

2. Assist server in completion of opening duties

3. Ensure restaurant and patio are set up by 6:45 am

4. Pre-shift at 6:45 am, specials, 86’d items, PPX, special cleaning projects, etc

5. Turn music on and set to appropriate AM level

6. Be prepared to take IRD orders and deliver them

7. Stay near host stand to help seat/direct guests and be prepared to help opening server start orders/get coffee orders going

8. Always encourage server to curate the guest-experience, assist as needed 

LUNCH

1. Have breakfast server run checkout and take break/cut (depending on business needs)

2. Collect breakfast closing paperwork

3. Give exchange bartender $138 bar bank

4. Pre-shift at 11:15 am, specials, 86’d items, PPX, cleaning projects, etc

5. Always encourage servers to curate the guest-experience, assist as needed

RUDOLPH’S OPENING

1. Make sure opening server and bartender arrive on time, dressed, and ready for shift.

2. Give opening bartender $300 Rudolph’s bank

3. Check completion of opening duties

CLOSING AM SHIFTS:

1. Check sideworks for Café and Exchange- sign off

2. Collect closing paperwork and banks/complete tip spreadsheets

3. Complete shift-note/recap email, send any “note-to-files” to HR & MGMT (employee was late to shift, poor performance, insubordination, etc.)

4. Check BEO board for upcoming special events/BEOs, be alert for staffing needs
