Chef David LeFevre has carved a niche in Manhattan Beach with eclectic, chef driven restaurants focusing on soulful food, engaging service, hand crafted cocktails and boutique wine selections; Manhattan Beach Post in April 2011, Fishing with Dynamite in April 2013, and The Arthur J in June 2015. We continue to look for talented, highly passionate, experienced and motivated Chefs to recruit into our family.

A qualified Pastry Sous Chef candidate will be a passionate industry leader & role model who is charismatic, self-motivated and thrives in a dynamically evolving environment. He/She must possess a high level of culinary mastery, a mentality of guardianship of all product in the pastry department, excellent communication & organizational skills, ability to multi-task & delegate effectively, drive financial results and possess a proven track record of mentoring crew & peers alike.

A qualified Pastry Sous Chef candidate must possess 1 year of experience in a supervisory role in a chef driven/fine dining restaurant. The right Pastry Sous Chef will also possess a minimum of 3 years working with pastries. This candidate drives high-detail coaching, is unrelenting in the maintaining the quality and standards of the kitchen, and is obsessed with the tiniest details of anything that can elevate a dining experience for a Guest through the mastery of their craft. This position must meet and exceed the expectations of a Michelin Starred Chef in Chef LeFevre, Pastry Chef Uyen Nguyen [hand selected by Guy Savoy as his first female pastry chef], and be undeterred to practice and sharpen their craft.

This position requires a high level of attention to detail in order to succeed in an environment of extremely high standards – always with humility, respect and integrity. Candidates will be involved in all aspects of operations, mentorship of team members, service execution and even Guest interaction. There are opportunities for future advancement and the perfect candidate would be the individual completely open to guidance while still chomping at the bit to earn more.
