The Activities Assistant in the Care Center will report to the Director of Activities and will have overall responsibility for identifying and developing the leisure interests of the residents in a therapeutic manner. Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of leisure activities and must have a thorough background in activity assessment, MDS, care plan, progress notes and participation documentation. The Activities Assistant will possess a genuine interest in and concern for geriatric, chronically ill, and/or disabled persons.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a general, community or activities service atmostphere (preferably in a senior adult community), excellent human relations and communication skills and the ability to address multiple projects in a busy working environment.
This position will also be required to drive bus on resident outings.
The two available schedules are Sunday through Thursday, 8am to 4:30pm or Tuesday through Saturday, 8am to 4:30pm.
