Fresh Brothers is looking for full-time, HR Generalist. Qualified applicants must have a high level understanding of California Labor Law, great interpersonal, communication and administrative skills as well as a passion for the hospitality industry.


Partners with Field Management team to maintain compliance;

Reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization's policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters;

Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization's compliance;

Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of the organization's wage and salary program;

Maintains a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys;

Scheduling and conducting job evaluations;

Monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions;

Recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions;

Completes human resource operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees;

Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems;

Maintains the design, development, and administration of the Company-wide pre-employment, new-hire, and on-boarding procedures;

Supports training and development efforts;

Oversees the evaluation, processing, and coordinating of the Company’s workers’ compensation program (e.g., claims reviews, investigations, Cal-OSHA record keeping);

Supports staffing activities (e.g., recruitment plans, background checks, conducts screening and interview processes);

Serves as the benefits liaison between vendor and employees;

Maintains employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends;

Recommending benefit programs to management;

Oversees the performance management system (e.g., feedback, discipline, documentation);

Addresses employee complaints, grievances, and morale issues;

Supports the organizational culture that fosters positive employee relations;

Monitors various organizational change initiatives;

Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures; 

Conducts investigations as required;

Ensures proper entry, storage, and use of employee data (e.g., application, benefits, wages, vacation, sick time); tracks all legally required leaves of absence (e.g., FMLA, CFRA, ADA);

Makes recommendations regarding human resources issues;


  • 5 years of related Human Resources and/or Recruitment, PHR desirable
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must be detail oriented, able to multi-task & be a creative thinker
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
