The award-winning Firehouse Restaurant is seeking an experienced Marketing Specialist to join team. 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Promote the awareness of The Firehouse Restaurant and Harvego Companies through media relations, marketing, public relations and social media communications. The Marketing Specialist will have primary responsibility for the website (desktop and mobile), e-newsletters/blasts, social media, creative, marketing collateral, photography and video, and implement strategies that articulate the brand and engage and activate our target audiences.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION

The Marketing Specialist assists in the overall Firehouse Restaurant and Harvego Companies marketing efforts. Position supports marketing operations by implementing marketing plan; promoting restaurant; monitoring competition; collecting, verifying, analyzing information; implementing advertising campaigns.


Responsibilities:

  • Continued development/maintenance of the social marketing strategy, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and e-blasts. Enhance social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging, and audience identification. Optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of company’s social content. Moderate all user-generated content in line with the moderation standards.
  • Attract and interact with targeted virtual communities and network users to gradually achieve superior customer engagement and intimacy, website traffic and revenue by strategically exploiting all aspects of the social media marketing roadmap.
  • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action.
  • Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information.
  • Create editorial calendars and schedules.
  • Manage website marketing efforts. Update and add content to websites.
  • Implement advertising and news campaigns by contacting media and publicity properties; monitoring and evaluating results; adjusting message and media; disseminating news releases.
  • Maintain advertising campaign, writing content for all ads. Create all ads, print and digital.
  • Inform target audiences by designing, writing, editing, proofreading, and distributing news releases/media alerts, newsletters, websites, e-blasts, rack cards, brochures, flyers, backgrounders, media advisories, etc.; updating Web and intranet pages; scheduling meetings and tours; taking photographs.
  • Market promotional events (i.e., restaurant milestones/anniversaries, special wine tastings onsite).
  • Responsible for the achievement of communications/marketing goals and develop annual marketing budget and monitor progress of the plan and budget throughout the year.
  • Monitors competition by identifying and mapping competitor locations; conducting competitive shopping; gathering information on pricing, new products, and merchandising techniques.
  • Develop the necessary tools for measuring marketing effectiveness.
  • Presents competitive reports by analyzing and summarizing competitor information; locating trends; recommending changes in product, service, and sales policy.
  • Maintains promotional materials by monitoring and re-ordering inventory; keeping information current.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping marketing information confidential.
  • Effective management skills to develop and manage accurate project budgets and complete projects successfully, meeting established budgets and timelines.
  • Outstanding diplomatic and interpersonal skills to initiate and maintain cooperative relationships with co-workers, restaurant management, customers/clients, vendors and members of the community.
  • Identify and build relationships with industry influencers, associations, organizations, etc., that will be vital to the companies’ marketing efforts.
  • Collaborate with other restaurant departments to manage reputation, identify key players and coordinate actions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, business, public relations, or communications and a minimum of 10 years’ experience preferred with demonstrated success preferably in the restaurant or retail industry.
  • Impeccable written and oral communication skills and demonstrated track record as a team player.
  • Ability to take information and transform it into exciting, inspirational and useful messages and disseminate it to the target audiences through the best distribution channels.
  • Experience implementing social media strategy.
  • Demonstrated work experience in the implementation of integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Word and Excel.
  • Experience with Wix, Constant Contact, Google Analytics, AdWords, AdRoll, and all social media platforms.
  • Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop required. Adobe Lightroom a plus.
  • Food photography experience a plus.
  • Have an excellent understanding of principles and practices of planning and organizing marketing programs, including partner marketing and development of marketing collateral.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and manage projects independently.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with the ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Superior professionalism and judgment.
  • Excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills.
  • Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge.
  • Strong knowledge of web design, web development, CRO and SEO.
  • Knowledge of online marketing and good understanding of major marketing channels.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and manage projects independently.
  • Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability.
  • Fluency in English.
  • High standard of work ethic, honesty, integrity, loyalty, and dedication.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to hear and speak to employees and outside business associates on the phone and in person.
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs and sit for long periods at a time.
  • Ability to see the letters and numbers on a personal computer screen and on memos, reports and other documents (near vision).


Travel Requirements:

Use of personal vehicle will be required on occasion.
